Welcome to Hue
Once the imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue is steeped in history and heritage that earn it UNESCO World Heritage status and place it on the map of ‘must see’ destinations whilst visiting the country. Founded by the first king of the Nguyen Dynasty in 1802, the ancient capital houses a wealth of impressive monuments and architectural sites, including the Forbidden Purple City, the walled citadel, Ngo Mon Gate, and the tombs of Emperor Minh Mang and Tu Duc. The city is also famed for its cuisine, considered by many to be the best in the country.
